Happy Fun Friday!

Since Riley has graduated to being off leash, we haven't used the long training lead in a long time. I almost forgot we had it. Now Grace has joined our family, and she isn't quite trusted off leash yet, so it's back! We have a nice grassy area outside our place (our complex has a tiny dog park, but most the time there's a lot of poop, because the lazy people we live around can't pick it up...grumpy?... just a little). So I gathered the dogs, toys and camera and went outside to play!

*Side note*  In the past Riley has shown very little interest in fetch, maybe 3-4 throws and he loses interest. Grace on the other hand loves to play fetch, so now what does Riley like to do? FETCH! Silly dogs! LOL

 "WAIT FOR MEEEE!"

"I got the toy mom!"

Look at that focus!

How high can you fly!?

"Hey, whatcha got there?"

Hover dogs are  Hovering!

"I is a rabbit!"

Some advice from Grace
Sometimes you just need to stop and have a good roll in the grass.

"I'll show you how it's done!"

It's good for the body....

mind .....

and soul!

"See, now don't you feel better?"

It brings out your inner beauty!

"I haz a happy"
 "Same here"

Agility Course Work

We had our second course work class last night, and I think things are sloooowly starting to click! Our first run was not good. I need to remember body language and to push the path, but most importantly I need to trust that Riley will do what I say. I think a lot of it is that I don't trust myself, in that, I know what to do. Some times I feel like I am just running around waving my arms about going "Ahhhh what do I do!" and Riley is following me wagging his tail the whole time, saying "Yup that's my mom" LOL :)

Here is a video of our first run that my husband took

Our second run was awesome! We just needed a warm up,... yea that's it hehe. We had one little hiccup at the 3rd the last jump coming out of the tunnel. I think some of it had to do with the fact that I stopped moving so, so did Riley. Everyone in class is so nice and helpful, which makes it that much more enjoyable. Over all it was a good day!

Spots everywhere!

Two posts in one day! WOOT :)

Riley and Grace love to wrestle! The first couple days we had Grace it was like this almost nonstop!!! It was kinda crazy!  But now, after about 2 weeks, they have a couple good wrestles a day and chill the rest :) Grace is usually the instigator, but Riley will start them every once in a while :)

I took this while I was on my lunch break, I didn't want to go back to work, I wanted to stay home and play with my dogs! They were obviously have more fun then I was haha :)

Rainy Moody Monday

It's gross outside, thunder storms all day. Can I just stay home?
I'd say Riley has the right idea!

Improved toy-making skills

With some advice from, Karen from Wyndson Farm, I made an improvement to my toys, using the 4-braid method :) I didn't know how to do the 4-braid and she sent me a great link and it turned out to be really easy!

I think I am hooked on making my own tug toys now! It's easy, cheap and fun!
Riley and Grace both agree on the fun part!

Riley got to try it out first. He is more of a quiet player with his toys. Unless there is a squeaker, but he will still just lay there and *squeak* *squeak* *squeak*......

While Grace on the other hand is very animated when she plays with toys! Death to all toys!

*note Riley chilling in the background*

♥ I love her whiskers ♥

After she had her fun and settled down, I took some pictures of her adorable face :) She is learning quickly that I have the camera out a lot and that most likely it will be in her face :) I'd say she's got the hang of it!

I'm just the toy maker...

It has become clear, that Grace is more a destroyer of toys then Riley ever was! So in light of this discovery, I decided to make my own toys! I've seen other people make them, but just never got around to doing it. Well now I have a reason :)

I didn't even get the fleece laid out on the floor before the dogs were all over it! Apparently it was the prime spot for Riley to chew on his kong and for Riley and Grace to wrestle! I think they had more fun playing on the large pieces and trying to steal the toys prematurely :)

"Oh, were you working here?"

"Bah hahahaha!"

"MINE!"

Grace coming to help delay the toy making process.

So many legs!

I can't tell who's is who's!!!

In the end, I was able to make 2 new toys and a blanket for Grace :) I have more fabric to make more toys and Riley a blanket, but I am taking a break for now.

The toys were a hit! Grace really likes them because she can shake them dead!

Here is 1 of the 2 blankets :)
