We adopted Riley in November 2008 at 8 months old from a local shelter. We had seen him on Petfinder.com a few months prior, but weren't quit ready for a dog. I was so sad because I just knew he would get adopted quickly, I mean he is just too cute!
Fast forward a couple months and as we were getting ready to see another dog, I was browsing petfinder again and saw his picture was back up! I about died of excitement! The shelter was having a adoption tent event and the tricky part was finding the tent. After going to the supposed location and having no luck finding it, we about gave up, but as we were making our way back to the interstate, there it was! a big white tent with dogs! I was so nervous, I wanted so bad this to be the right dog for us. After meeting Riley, formally Duke, and walking him, we knew this was it, we found our dog.
After bringing him home, and changing his name to Riley, we started basic obedience classes and shortly after graduating that, I looked into beginner agility classes in our area. Ever since we started agility classes, I've been hooked! Riley is the class clown and social butterfly, but can be a pretty sensitive guy, he is very willing to please.
We have our agility debut October 27th and 28th! Wish us luck!
