Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone! I really hope you are having a wonderful day! I know I have been a really bad blogger as of late, but I have been SUPER busy. I do have about 3 other post lined up, and were all suppose to be before this one, but.... yea, I've been bad, lazy, busy, distracted, whatever you want to call it. SO here is my HAPPY EASTER post and I promise at least 3 more whole posts to follow!

And now for your entertainment, Grace and Riley putting on their best Easter bunny faces!

Look at those sad bunny eyes!

"I am not a bunny! I eat bunnies!"

Nom Nom Nom Nom!

Ooook I be the bunny

HAPPY EASTER!

Tell me Thusday #9

This weeks TMT is freestyle! I'm not a very interesting person so this should be interesting haha
 - Work sucks lately. There is WAY to much to go into it, but just trust me, it sucks. Probably one of the main reasons I haven't been blogging much.
- Grace is doing super good on her Rally stuff! One day soon I will work up the courage to enter a trail in Advanced Rally. The whole off leash thing makes me nervous.
-Riley is doing awesome with Agility, and I am still working on his weaves.
-I am surrounded by pregnant friends! Haha Seems like everyone is on that band wagon. We aren't there just yet :) Give us a year.
-I am trying to get Riley to get his CGC. I was spoiled with Grace, she made it look easy. With him it's all about being calm. That is almost impossible for him. At this point he can barely contain himself when our teacher approaches to do the greeting, not even pet him, He is just such a social dog.
- This would have been an interesting post if I didn't correct anything. It is almost 11:20 pm, and I am sooo tired!

Well, I guess what is about it. I could go on, by I am hitting the backspace more then actual typing.

Riley and his fish

Super short post before I head to bed!

Video of Riley "playing" with the fish. I had to speed it up, unless y'all wanted to watch a 11 minute video of him staring at the pond LOL.

Wordy? Wednesday

Today ended like no other. Left work, not in the greatest of moods, but what else is new. Drive home was, well, long, but actually slightly less traffic. Called agility class, to double check it was canceled do to all the rain.  I get home, excited to see the dogs, and let them out in the yard like always. They run around, say hi to mom, I cuddle them and feel happy. Well Grace had run inside, grabbed a toy and brought it out to tug. So we're tugging and all of a sudden I here SPLASH!

I turn around and there is Riley in the fish pond, chasing fish.... LOL!

Now, when we first moved in both, Riley and Grace had jumped in because there was water, but we haven't had any incidences since then. Well, Riley has discovered there are actually FISH IN THERE!

Oh, Riley! All I could do was laugh, after a irritating day at work, the dogs can always do something to make me smile :)

Completely off topic and random

So, this post is completely off topic and has nothing to do with dogs. But, I feel the need to say it. When I work hard at something and have great passion for it, I feel hurt when someone disrespects me.

What I am talking about here, are my brother's senior pictures, one in particular. Now, it was just a stupid comment may by a teenage boy on Facebook. I probably shouldn't even pay attention to it, but I couldn't let it go. Taking my brothers senior pictures was something that meant a lot to me. He flew all the way down from WA to visit and to get his pictures taken.

The one picture in particular was one that he wanted and it was a little challenging to get it just right, but I did it! I am so proud of this picture, my brother loves it and everyone else had nothing but good things to say. Now, I know this is a good picture, but the comment the boy made really just made me mad. "Fag", that was all he wrote.

Now as a sister, I took offense to that, whether is was meant as a "all in good fun" comment or not, it made me mad that someone would say that about my brother. And as the photographer I was hurt that someone would leave that as a comment. I typed up a very nice response, but I figured I should give my brother a heads up, that I was about to give a stern talking to, to one his "friends" (don't think they are in real life) on Facebook.

In the end I did not post my comment, my brother didn't want me to embarrass him, but he did delete the comment. My brother didn't think anything of the comment, "oh that's just D, he's a jerk" but he took it off for me, because he understood that it hurt my feelings. Thanks bro!

Here is my would be comment:
D: I find your comment very childish and uncalled for. Why would someone be a “fag” for wanting a picture of their class ring? It is something he takes pride in, and I was very happy to photograph his ring for him. This picture was a very difficult one to obtain, there was a lot of time and effort put into these pictures and I take great pride in them. Therefor insulting the person, the picture, you are insulting me. Now, you may not have meant any harm by your comment; “it's all fun in games”, “that's not what I meant”, so on and so on, but there are consequences behind the words you choose. They may mean nothing to you, but to others, they can be very upsetting. In the future, I would suggest keeping such crud/immature comments, on such a public network, to yourself. There is no room for negativity here.

Thanks you fellow bloggers for letting me vent :)

Tell Me Thursday 2012 #6

I know, I know, you're in shock! A post! Careful not to hurt yourself, as you fall out of your seat in amazement! LOL! With hubby gone, off shore, I just don't have a lot of time to sit and chill. But, I have found a moment and have decided to participate in this weeks Tell Me Thursday by Crooks and Crazies! Woohoo! Go me!

This week's questions are:

1. Robin wants to know what your ideal number of dogs is?

Hummm, well right now I am pretty comfortable with 2. I have entertained the idea of maybe fostering, maybe once we have kinda settled into the house more and then might we look into it more.

2. Lora wants to know, if you find that your dogs are better or worse after time off from training?
With an established behavior or activity, I wouldn't say worse, maybe just out of touch, but they seem to bounce back into it fast. Now if it is a new behavior/activity *cough* *cough* like weaves, and you are a bad mommy and don't practice, then yes I would say worse, in that aspect.

3. What is your favorite power tool? What power tool do you wish you had?
Well mostly my hubby is the one in charge of power tool duty, not that I mind using them, I just have more faith in him then I do me! So let's see what the hubby has to say about this! :) Favorite would be, the cordless drill, and one he wished he had, would be a CNC machine. Now, that was out of my normal power tool knowledge, so for those (like me) who don't know, here is your fact for the day. A CNC machine it's a computer controlled cutting machine that can basically carve metal, wood, plastic into anything. Who knew! :)

4. What did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be an astronaut or astronomer! I loved and still love the wonders of space. Some of my best memories are of me and my dad staying up late on chilly cold nights, looking through the telescope. We would look at the moon, planets and constellations though the telescope and even get my brother, sister and friends to come out to watch meteor showers.

5. How many of your friends are not "dog people"?
I would say one couple we know. They like dogs and all, might even get one of their own, but I wouldn't call them "dog people". I don't think they quiet get how dogs behave, interact or play. The husband, has on more then one occasion, yelled at, and broken up perfectly good playing behavior, with my dogs and a friends dog. Anyway, all of my other friends I would consider "dog people", some more "involved" then others (like me), but dog people all the same :)

Superbowl Playdate

Red's mom invited us over for a Superbowl play date. Honestly, no one really cared about the game, but it was a good excuse to get together, eat good food and let the pups hang out. Grace and Red played all evening, Riley tends to hang back, jumping in every once in a while. Mostly he just likes to hang with the people :)

 Show me your game face!

 Going for the tackle!

Grace says "time-out", but Red says other wise!

After a long afternoon of playing we had some very tired pups.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
In other news, Riley's agility it really coming along. We are still working on the weaves but slowly yet surely they are coming around.
I am going to set a goal to pick a show (say 2-3 months away) and enter it. That way I have a deadline for myself. I have been so lazy lately! "oh we'll get out there tomorrow..." and a week later we haven't practiced.... sigh. Sorry Riley :(
But I really want to try and reach that goal! Not necessarily to have the weaves 100%, but just get to where he understands what they are (the straight weaves), and try.

Grace's Rally is really coming along too! My goal for her, is to maintain the focus during the heel. Our next step is off-leash Rally. I am nervous about it, but in class I've done some work off leash or on very loose leash, so that it may not even be there. Grace is doing awesome with that! So I guess my goal for Grace is to practice the heel work in more diverse areas.

Also I really promise to post more! Things have been busy and I just haven't had the camera out. But I WILL stick to my goals and hopefully that will entice me to post more, because we are actually doing stuff!

Happy (belated) Gotcha Day!

Yesterday was Grace's gotcha day!!!

I remembered about it the day before, and then forgot the day of, bad mom! I can't believe it's been a year since we adopted Miss Grace.

She has grown into a beautiful dog. She has surprised me with what she has accomplished, in just a year she:
- Got adopted!
- Adjusted into our family.
- Took and passed basic obedience.
- Took and passed her CGC test.
- Earned her RN title
-Made many new friends, people and doggies.
- and moved into a nice new house to call her own!

She never fails to make me laugh, I mean just this evening, after a long, frustrating day at work, I come home and the first thing she does, I just laugh and shake my head "oh Grace, you're too silly." So happy 1 year Gotcha Day Grace! We love you! Here's to many many more!

Below are pictures of what she looked like when the Border Collie rescue picked her up 2 years ago.

 Grace today!

I love this dog!
Happy Gotcha Day Grace!!!

More wreath pictures

Here are some of the more pictures that go with yesterdays picture!

Things have been non stop since Thanksgiving. For those who don't know, we bought a house! We moved in right after Thanksgiving and have just been getting into the home owner groove.

Being a home owner is AWESOME! We love it, and so do Riley and Grace! They can't get enough of the backyard!

I plan on posting some pictures soon, so y'all can see. Maybe tomorrow.

Staring at the treat and trying to ignore the wreath.

 O.M.G. it's touching me!!!

Ok, maybe it's not so bad. Treat?!

Kinda a "behind the scenes" picture.

This is going around my head?! I don't think so.... ooo can I eat it!?

No, but you can eat the treat over here. "Treat!"

 "I got this"

 "So do I"

 Picture taking pros!

Or is it a 2 legged spotted wreath monster?!!!
